Synthwave Music

Growing up in the 1980s meant being surrounded by some of the most memorable music ever made. My dad always leaned toward the classic sounds of the swinging sixties and 70s rock, while my mum had a deep love for country music. For a long time, country was the genre that held my heart. The storytelling, the emotion, and the honesty in those songs always resonated with me.

Then, a few years ago, I stumbled across synthwave almost by accident.

The moment I heard it, something clicked. The sound instantly transported me back to that neon-lit era of the 80s, but at the same time it felt fresh and deeply emotional in a way I hadn’t experienced before.

Artists like The Midnight, Gunship, Timecop1983, and FM-84 opened the door to a world of shimmering synths, driving beats, and cinematic nostalgia. I found myself completely immersed in it.

Before long I realised I didn’t just want to listen to this music, I wanted to create it.

So I began blending the elements I loved most: the storytelling heart of country music, the soaring emotion of glam rock and power ballads, and the pulsing synths and retro drum machines that define synthwave.

The result is music that feels both nostalgic and personal, songs inspired by the spirit of the 80s, wrapped in stories, melodies, and the glow of neon nights.

That journey is what led me to start writing and recording my own synthwave music.
